10-inch Acer Aspire One Officially Launched

Acer has recently released the 10-inch version of Aspire One netbook, AOD150, in the U.S.

Acer provide a few color options for their new 10-inch Aspire One, but unfortunately pink is not one of them (there's a ruby red version though which might be of interest for pink laptop lovers).

acer aspire one ado150
The specs for the Aspire One AOD150 are as follows:
  • 10.1-inch 1024×600 Acer CrystalBrite TFT LCD display
  • Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 160GB/5,400 rpm HDD
  • 945GSE Express Chipset
  • Integrated Intel GMA950 graphics
  • WiFi 802.11b/g
  • Acer Crystal Eye webcam
  • A multi-in-1 card reader
  • 6-cell battery
  • Available colors: seashell white, sapphire blue, ruby red and diamond black
And as usual, Laptop Magazine has got an early review on the new 10-inch machine from Acer. According to them, the Aspire One AOD150 is slim, stylish, and comes with great performance and battery life. If not because of the keyboard and touchpad layout, it's almost comparable to the Samsung NC10 and the new Asus Eee PC 1000HE... and it beats the other two in terms of price ($349.99). Overall, Laptop Magazine gave it a rating of 4 out of 5.

The Acer Aspire One AOD150 appears to be another great netbook that can be listed in our best netbook list. It's unfortunate that it's currently not available in pink, but we believe sooner or later, Acer will release a pink version, just its 8.9-inch predecessor.

Dual-Screen Netbook from Sharp Coming to USA for Sub-$1000

Netbooks are supposed to be cheap affordable and handy. However Sharp is bringing out a special netbook which is not cheap about $1000. So the netbook has to be handier than others in the market to be able to attract the consumers.

PC-NJ70A netbook comes with two LCD monitors: 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) main screen display and the small secondary screen located in the trackpad place. The small one is a 4-inch display that features 854 x 480 resolution and dynamical brightness. The user is able to do browsing files and running applications by it.

This pricey netbook features a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB hard drive, 3 USB ports, VGA out, Ethernet, EEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and a memory card reader and 1.3 MP Camera.

The netbook seems to be expensive in terms of specs. If the company had added 3G as a standard feature to this netbook or had used Express Card slot rather than media card reader to give the alternative of using 3G through Express slot, the price would have been more acceptable.

This netbook is on its way to the US market. It is available for pre-order.

Do you think many American consumers will consider of this netbook as one of their choices?

HP dv3t Laptop to Push Performance Starting at $800 to come in May

HP released its AMD-based dv3z laptop at the beginning of this month and obtained the rank of “very good” from Cnet editors because of its bargain price, very good feature set and excellent battery life with this price (4 hours and 41 minutes).

But the only big complain about this laptop was its slow performance. In any test Dell Studio XPS 13 ( featuring 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo P8600; 4,096MB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz; 256MB Nvidia GeForce 9400M G; 320GB Seagate 7,200rpm) defeated the HP dv3z (featuring 2.3GHz AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core ZM-84; 4,096MB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz; 320MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3200; 320GB Fujitsu 5,400rpm) very easily, with its much better scores.

HP knows this problem. The users who love to have one HP dv3 but with better performance need only wait some because HP is releasing the Intel-based HP dv3t laptop in May.

Wind U100 PLUS Netbook and MSI X340 Slim Laptop Released Soon

MSI is releasing two computer devices: Wind U100 PLUS Netbook and MSI X340 Ultra slim laptop by end of this month.

Wind U100 is totally known in them market and it was among the best selling netbooks last year. Wind U100 Plus is coming to give more choices to the consumers. Wind U100 PLUS adds two new stylish colors to Wind U100 line: Rose Champagne and Metallic Blue. Wind U100 Plus also is powered with New Atom N280 with clock speed of 1.66GHz.

MSI X-Slim X340 Ultra laptop will be the first laptop powering with Latest Intel Core 2 Solo Processor (CULV) in the market. This laptop like the previous one is coming out in USA by the end of this month.

Intel’s CULV CPU consumes very low power (about 5.5W of power used by 1.4GHz Intel CULV CPU) but, delivers performance closer to tradition notebooks.

The 13-inch X340 slim laptop stands next to Mac Mac Air, Envy 133, Samsung X360, and Dell Adamo etc ultra slim laptops. MSI claims that it is world’s lightest and slimmest 13-inch notebooks!

The laptop is only 6 mm at its thinnest, 20 mm at its widest, and the entire notebook is only weights 1.3 kilograms added with the battery! After seeing the pictures of X340, it seems that the laptop’s design is following the typical design of other MSI laptops and doesn’t look different. Comparing to other ultra slim laptops releasing by other companies, I feel that X340 looks ordinary although it is very thin and light!

The other highlighted features of X340 ultra include:

- Advanced Power Saving Technology

- WiMAX Wireless Module (optional)

- 802.11b / g / n Wireless Lan with Bluetooth (optional)

- 13-inch LCD (why not LED!) display with 16:9 Theater Ratio

- 2 USB2.0 Ports and HDMI output and Card Reader

- 2.5" 250GB/320GB/500GB SATA

Despite Economic recession, Laptop makers try to produce expensive stylish ultra slim laptops for corporate users! Surely they will never expect to sell a number of units from this category but it seems that making laptops like this has become part of the prestige of the company to demonstrate the ultimate skills of their designers.

Radio Shack and ATt&T Offer: Acer Aspire One Only for $80!

The $100 laptop seemed an impossible idea when Intel and Nicholas Negroponte started developing their own budget laptops for children of developing countries. When Asus enter to this quest with its Eee PC netbook, this idea became more touchable.

Bu this quest has got a new face since the wireless companies like AT&T starting subsidizing some of the popular netbooks like Eee PC 900 or HP mini 1000.

This time you can find the new offer of an 8.9" Acer Aspire One netbook equipped with WiMAX and 3G wireless in Radio Shack stores for just $80!

Well it sounds to be a great deal but, you can not get this netbook with this price lest you sign up a contract with AT&T for a 2-year wireless data plan costing $1440.

Well, it is clear that this particular offer is only appropriate for particular customers.

Nevertheless, the idea of $100 laptop needs a hard quest and it is impossible idea especially for the children of developing cuntries.
